Stats Update Now Live: Post Event Viewers
Ever wonder how many folks check out your events once they’re over? Well, we just recently released an upgrade that gives you this valuable insight.
As you are all aware, live blog not only have their value when live but if run correctly, they can also contain valuable information for your readers after the event is over. I’ll give you an example. Let’s say you’re live blogging a conference keynote. Towards the end, you enable our Q&A feature to transcribe the Q&A session. Your readers are excited to learn the latest and greatest but a few days after the session, you take down your live blog. Well, not only is the live blog gone but the knowledge from that session is as well. If you were to keep your event up within a live blog archive, your readers will always have your site as a point of reference for that event. Even better, you have now created another level of engagement with your site visitors. More time spent on site, more…you know. Go ahead, give it a try. It’ll surprise you have many people visit your event once it’s over. And now, have the stats to prove it.
Go on folks, keep those live blogs coming…and as you’ve just learned, consider creating an archive of all your events! Perhaps a little reverse logic might work. Don’t go creating that archive, it’s bad for you. People won’t like it.

LAUNCHED! Embed Video into Your Snapcast!
We have a new feature we’re excited to share with you!
Just launched, is a new tool to enable you to embed video directly into your Snapcast! It’s really easy. Simply grab the video embed code from your favorite site (such as Ustream.tv, Justin.tv, QIK, or Mogulus) and your Snapcast will switch to split-screen video mode. The video mode is especially useful if you are Snapcasting a live event where you have a live video feed.
As an example, you can check out a Snapcast from a concert in Nashville that had a live video feed and of course, a live Snapcast! This one was a lot of fun and hopefully a point of inspiration for folks. While the band was playing, viewers on the Snapcast were asking for dedications. Now talk about a virtual stadium! Does that give you an ideas?

LAUNCHED! Moderation and more!
It must be your lucky day! Two posts from the G-SNAP! team. Woohoo!
Well, today we’re proud to announce the availability of some new features. Here they are:
1. Moderation: in order to control the quality of your content, you now have a few choices as how you deal with viewer comments or viewers themselves.
- Viewer comments: By default comments are visible but you can also set comments to hidden (via Snapcast settings). That means a comment must be approved prior to it being posted to the Snapcast.
- Trusted contributor: If you set comments to hidden, you can promote a user who is doing a good job to be a “trusted contributor”. That is, all future comments they write will be automagically approved.
- Ban user: well, this isn’t exciting but it’s necessary. If you have a viewer causing you grief, you can boot them from your Snapcast.
A few additional features we launched:
- End Snapcast: by popular demand, you now have the ability to end your Snapcast. So, when you choose to do so, people can’t enter in any additional comments.
- Default Snapcast: for those of you who use our mobile product, setting a specific Snapcast to be your default Snapcast will make your x-casting a little easier. When you xcast, you no longer need to specify the Snapcast ID. Just enter a subject and you’re off to the races!
- Inappropriate word filter: we’ve had this for a little while but now you have the ability to turn it off (it’s on by default). Please continue to keep it as clean as possible as there might be a younger crowd in attendance!
Well, that’s about it for now. Enjoy the new features. As always, please keep the emails coming as we love to hear your thoughts and requests.
